This Sunday the transition team invites you to the Fellowship Hall at noon for lunch and conversation. After lunch we will have a large group conversation, per the request of several people, to surface the issues that are preventing FBC from living into the fullness of its mission.
This will be a structured discussion. Participants will be asked to speak, as they are willing, about what keeps them from being “all in” with moving forward in unity with fellow church members. In order to address this topic each speaker must first summarize what the prior speaker shared.
Those who are not comfortable sharing in large group, can submit stories ahead of time to be read during the congregational conversation. You can do so on paper via a box in the reception area or online through this link. The submission deadline for stories is end of business on Friday. Note that the transition team will read all submissions, but only those that are signed will be read aloud at the congregational conversation.
Please bring items for the meal as follows: a crockpot of soup or chili, chips, crackers, or a dessert for lunch.
If you have any questions, please contact any member of the transition team (Shawn Hawkins, Mike Ward, Sally Smith, David Weatherspoon, Gloria Hodges, April Blankenship, Cherish Mathis, Robin Miller) or me (reverendlaura@gmail.com).
Mark your calendars for future congregational conversations on February 23 and March 29.
I look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
