Maundy Thursday Service
April 18 @ 6:15 pm - 7:00 pm
Maundy Thursday is the first of the three days of solemn remembrance of the events leading up to and immediately following the crucifixion of Jesus. The English word “Maundy” comes from the Latin mandatum, which means “commandment.”
As recorded in John’s gospel, on his last night before his betrayal and arrest, Jesus washed the feet of his disciples and then gave them a new commandment to love one another as he had loved them (John 13:34).
Maundy Thursday is an essential part of our Easter preparation. We observe the last supper and remember Judas betrayal. We reflect on how that betrayal is made manifest through our own sin; a necessary step if we are to fully understand and celebrate the ultimate triumph of the resurrection.
Please join us in the Chapel as we remember, reflect, and affirm our commitment to our Lord, Thursday, April 18 at 6:15 pm.
